Climax Engineered Materials (a division of Climax Molybdenum, world leader in molybdenum processing) is focused on the development of unique new metal powders.
Our goal is to aggressively launch new products and develop new applications and technologies, to expand the impact of Freeport-McMoRan mineral assets by adding value for our customers.
Climax Engineered Materials was created in 2003 and began to supply molybdenum products in 2004. Shipping from our facility in Sahuarita, Arizona, initial products included both powders and pellets. Since then, we have added specialized powder types for several applications.
In 2005, CEM acquired Kinetics, a leading manufacturer of Metal Injection Molded parts based in Wilsonville, Oregon.
In 2006, Climax Engineered Materials became an ISO:9001 certified company. Both sites - Sahuarita, Ariz. and Wilsonville, Ore. - are now ISO certified.
