Climax Engineered Materials, a Freeport-McMoRan company, develops and produces unique metal powders and products at our facilities in Sahuarita, Ariz., and Wilsonville, Ore.
Our Sahuarita facility produces molybdenum products - powders and pellets - for applications including flat-panel displays and automotive parts.
Climax Engineered Materials has also developed a unique material for Chemical-Mechanical Planarization (CMP), using our knowledge of copper chemistry. Our CMP material is used to polish copper layers on semiconductor wafers, as microprocessors and other devices are manufactured.
In Wilsonville, our Kinetics team produces small, complex parts using Metal Injection Molding. Parts are made of copper, stainless steel and other alloys. Applications include medical devices such as surgical instruments; complex components in hand tools; and small parts inside cell phones.
