Climax Engineered Materials
The Technical Center at E. Pima Mine Road, east of the Santa Cruz River, is the new state-of-the-art metals processing plant of Climax Engineered Materials, a division of Phelps Dodge Corp. The production of fine, ultra-fine, and nano metal powders began in October 2003. This new facility incorporates the most advanced technologies available for the production of special metals, alloys and compounds, including a range of nanomaterials. The Technical Center aims to become one of the highest-quality producers in the world. Efforts to meet or exceed customer requirements are a prime focus for the high-purity products from this location.
